:usaflag: No Hunting On The Connectut Shore this AM!!

Winds out of the south at 20-30 MPH with gusts into the 40s and the waves are jumping!!

From the vantage point of a ledge outcropping at the extreme eastern end of my hunting grounds I was able to capture a few pretty good shots of why there will be no hunting this AM!

There are a few rain drops on the lens and I am thankful for the water-proof camera!

I picked up a lobster-pot buoy and a few pieces of plastic on my walk, but I certainly didn't spend much time out there this AM even though the south wind did take the temperatures into the mid-fifties!

(I left this shot unchanged to show the low light conditions and adjusted the others to provide better detail.)

I suspect there will be some changes in the beach contours come daylight tomorrow, but not nearly as many as there would have been if this was a moon tide with extreme high and low water levels.

I suspect that these conditions and moon tide would have taken out this fence once and for all for this winter!

Thanks for looking,

CJ

to over lap them and turn standing in one place, I could have made a great pan from them. I tried but they were too far off. A couple were sorta close though

Thanks for trying Royal!

I was just trying to get some decent shots without getting blown away!

I never gave a panarama any thought!

Pretty windy day here and I am looking forward to seeing what the beach will look like in the morning!

Regards,

CJ

wants to try a panorama, just post the pictures, making sure they are all the same size and I will try to make a pan out of them. They should overlap around 30%

The important thing is that you got out regardless of the weather. I find that a walk on the beach sort of hunt can be just as much fun as a dig like crazy in pounding surf sort of hunt.
Pretty coastline but it gives me the shivers just looking at that water.

Cheers,

I had 5 layers of cloths on.

The two outer layers were hooded rain/wind breakers so I was comfortable enough, but I would not have wanted to get wet with that wind blowing as it was.

Not a hunting day for sure!

Tomorrow AM I'll have to see how much the beach has changed.

Great to hear your Mom is doing well and that there is hope for staying in Bermuda until you're ready to leave.

Best to Ya Friend,

CJ

Beautiful shots Cupa.. The wind, the spray, the smell of the ocean... It does not get any better than that.

fair winds

Micheal

Today's follow up!

I couldn't get to the same vantage point as yesterday because of the high tide.

This is close enough for you to get a good look!

The wind has calmed down, but the large ground swells keeeeep coming!

A high wind at this tide can push the waves up to and in some cases over the breakwater only a few yards in front of the cottages.

The large ground swells have pulled hundreds of tons of sand down off the beach and it is one smooth slope almost all the way to the cottages!

The water slams into these stone breakwaters sometimes so hard the ground shakes!!

The swells are slowing down as these pics were taken and still I managed to catch some spray!

The fence has almost been destroyed, but the steel chain holding it together is preventing the pieces from washing away.

It would seem that there is a method to the owner's madness this past year in that he will be able to re-use the posts etc!!

To the left of the post the high tide line is visible where seaweed was deposited.

This fence was perhaps twenty feet out in the rough water during yesterdays blow!!

Tomorrow the scenery will likely be different.

Should it be different and interesting enough I may post more pics,

CJ
