I have a chance to purchase a new XL Pro still in the box with 2 year warranty. Is this a good choice to make with all the newer technology out there and since this detector has been discontinued a few years back. Would I be better off getting the xlt or dfx. Thanks for any advise...............

An older detector to die for.
Grab it while you can.
How did you find this and what did you pay for it ?

Is that the 6000 pro xl.If it is it gets good write ups in Enlgand as well.Type in 'garys metal detecting'for an honest review of this detector. These reviews are done by an independent detectorist who has no interest in a particular manafacturer...so u get an honest opinion.Hope u enjoy your new machine.

Don't hesitate or someone else will get one of the best white's detectors (My Opinion!) ever made. I have the DFX & XL PRO. 80% of the time I use my XL PRO. There is still a wide selection of coils available. You can get some great deals on used coils. Bigfoot is my 1st choice for a coil.:clapping:

There is nothing wrong with the "old technology." The newer ones may have more options, but that can also be confusing to many.

Saw one sell for $535 on ebay this weekend.Thats with no warranty/plus shipping.Grab it while you can!DBULL

 Thanks to all that took the time to respond to a question that is asked on a regular basis. I really respect the opinions of the forum members here, your knowledge is overwhelming to me.
