:usaflag: National Anthem sung with a kick and bit of a twist by a Navy veteran....

[size=large] OK ~ I'm not a big music listener and could not tell you the top ten songs since the 1970's. I would have never thought I'd post our National Anthem being sung by a "hard-rock" (eeewh) group jumping around and slinging their hair ~ I'm more of a Ricky Nelson demeanor ~ just stand there in sing good music. However this song this is worth a listen.

Liberal talk-show hosts and comedians have recently criticized the National Anthem as being stupid, silly, too militaristic and more such insults.

This band sings an updated version that will knock your socks off, a Navy vet sings the lead. No matter what you are anticipating, give it a listen and see for yourself. I don't think it should replace the original but I have seen the song butchered my more than a few "Great Artist". I least I could listen to this version with a open mind. What do you all think?

And ranks right up there with folks that think they are 'patriotic' by wearing clothing that resembles our Flag or posessing anything else that is made in the 'fashion' of our flag or a shirt with a picture of our Flag with something 'patriotic' printed on or over top of our Flag.Or leave torn and tattered Flags hanging from thier house because last 'holiday' they thot they'd be 'patriotic' and hang( anywhere they pleased and in any position they please mind you) a Flag only to leave it and neglect it after the 'holiday' is long gone.
Our Flag represents much much more than most people know and She is to be flown with reverence, respect and according to Her code and nothing else.
( read Her code http://www.ushistory.org/betsy/flagcode.htm )
Same for our National Anthem.
It is not an entertainment piece to be made into whatever someone wants to make it into to gain attention to themselves.
It is to be sung with reverence and respect.

in any way we want too about our country(as long as it's respected to it),I'm and old Vet and I didn't see any thing wrong with the song.I do respect your ways about our flag but not every one in the USA look's at it your way,Even some old war Vet that damn near gave there all for that flag.:usaflag::usan:

If Frank Sinatra sung it you would hear a little swing and jazz,Muddy Waters would have a little blues in it.It's not who or how it was sung. It's there way of showing how much they love the song. And that's what makes America so great.:usaflag:

I don't know if you realize it or not, when Francis Scott Keys' poem was put to music, the music the lyrics were put to were from a contemporary song. Just like many hymns from Church, the lyrics were added to contemporary music...their version of rock and roll. I think it shows great respect for the National Anthem. In case you didn't hear it in the later part of the song, it says, I can't remember it word for word, "for those who don't believe it is still the land of the free, and the home of the brave."

i've seen too much of the "i've earned the right to do what i want" attitude that is causing the slow degredation of who and what we as a Nation and our symbols that represent it are.
Call me a purist but there are some things about our great Nation that just aren't open for 'interpretation' or 'mood'.
And when our own Military does things like carry a huge flag at an event horrizontle across the ground when the code clearly states that She is never to be displayed that way. What does that say ?
S'pose we'll jist have to agree to disagree on this one.
