:usaflag: My wife, Ace 250 and a quick beach hunt!! :detecting:

My wife reminded me a while back that she used to enjoy dry sand hunting and was looking forward to getting out there again.

Yesterday when the day had wound down to a "what should we do now" phase an hour or so before dark, I suggested we take a spin on the beach nearby.

Her eyes lit up and I knew I was on the right track!

It was her first hunt in over twenty years, but after I showed her how to use the little Green Machine, she was practically singing as she also was getting the feel for the new scoop I had built for her. (See scoop building post!)

We enjoyed an hour of coin retrieval before the damp, chilly wind off the water forced us to head home to warm up.

She had totally enjoyed her hunt. :

When we compared notes she had 99 cents and I (using my Excal) had only about a quarter of that!

Sheeeeeee's baaaack!!!!:thumbup

and I'm glad!

That is a mighty good find, CJ. My wife supports my endeavors with this hobby one hundred percent, but in my thirety seven years of doing it, she has never shown an interest, herself. WTG! HH jim tn

ARRRR, so ye married a pirate lass, did ya? I suggest ye be promtin' 'er to get out there a bit more often! Don't be scared, it keeps 'em out of yer loot chest!

Looking back, it was closer to 25 years since she has used a detector.

She would hunt the dry sand while I was in the water.

Several wise-aker young punks mouthed off near her not caring if she heard or not and soured the detecting experience for her.

The years have dimmed the memory of that bad experience that she is ready to hunt again.

I'll make sure the experience doesn't repeat and she can enjoy the hobby like she used to.

She is not able to water hunt or we could have kept at it instead of stopping for all those years.

Thanks for your replys Friends,

CJ

CJ,

Nothing like hunting with the family, for me it is my wife and daughter. We were late bloomers, our 15 year old daughter could be our great granddaughter if we consider our age. We love it though. Toni, my daughter is itching to go in the water. Well I guess so am I! I tried it with a IDX Pro last week and now I am hooked. Got a couple of scoops on the way and I am putting together one of your sifters. Still debating on detectors though, BHID, Excal, HH, or maybe a Sand Shark? Toni say she will try first with her M6 and see how it works out. Thanks for the inspiration!

Best Regards,
Steve
