:usaflag: My LS and the new 10X14Mono Coil are on their way home to Garrett!

I have been reading your trials and tribulations with the 10x14 mono and it does not seem right to me. My 10x14 mono runs just as good if not better than the 8 inch mono...even on the salt water beaches.

So glad to hear you are shipping the coil and control box back. Garrett should fix it up just fine. My bet is, the coil is bad.

They will make it right, Im sure its something minor they can fix.

sending it to the :garrett:people with skill and know how usually give the best result.

If betting was allowed I would put my money on a bad shield connection in the plug.

No matter, hope to hear you get back in the water :detecting:with a fully working Infinium.

Thanks for your supportive comments Friends!!

I'm certain Garrett will iron out any bugs they encounter and will perform any necessary mods to get the LS back in action.

I keep reading about hunters with machines that perform consistently well without any annoying chatter and I have dealt with erratic response and constant chatter as long as I have had mine.

I thought it was all part of the "Infinium Learning Curve" I kept hearing about!

Reading "between the chatter lines" I was still able to find enough treasure to pay for the machine.

I still think my hunting grounds are largely responsible, but when the new coil didn't respond to a large visible submerged target with desc. below 4 I knew something else was going on.

The 8"MONO didn't fail on the same test when set at 0 Desc..

Off to Garrett it went.

can you tell me what was the problem with your infinium?
with mine and the 14 inch DD coil I get all kind of false signals when I touch, the wet sand, weeds and incoming waves,
I taught that was normal until I purchase the 14" inch mono coil,
I never get any false signals with the 14 inch mono,
very stable just a pain in the a...s to pin point,
is it possible that there is a problem with 14 inch DD coil?

Garrett informed me that the new 10X14"Mono I ordered from Garrett's On Line Store was a coil for their other water machine and not only wouldn't work on the LS, but may damage it too!!

They are taking care of the unit for me and I should get it back in a week or so.

All new seals, mods to up-date the electronics, and a new coil should have the Old Girl working fine!!

Thanks for your reply,

CJ

Hi Cupajo.

Now there is something that should never have happened.
At least Garrett was up front about the fault. You are going to notice a hell of a difference in performance when you get the detector back.

Cheers,

Hi FG!,

I checked my online order slip and it doesn't say Infinium on it.

It says 10X14" Mono Eliptical Coil.

I certainly didn't expect the wrong coil and didn't know what to look for to determine if it was the right one.

Here's hoping things will be better than before Friend,:beers:

HI Cupajo,
The Sea hunter coil has an grey cable and the Infinium coil is marked Infinium and has a black cable.
I know the seahunter 8 inch mono is marked Seahunter but not sure about the 10 x 14 mono

Thanks FG for the info!

I should have been more observant as I understand "Murphy's Law" all too well.

The other issues I had been having with the LS are now, hopefully a thing of the past.

Regards,

CJ

Hoping your Infinium will be top notch on its return to you...looking forward to seeing your finds!
