:usaflag: Looks Like A Great Day To Hunt The Salt Water!! :detecting:

What a way to start a day!!

Sipping my steaming hot, black "cup-a-jo", I watched as the eastern sky brightened into a near perfect sun-rise.

The tide will be perfect to get a hunting day underway in about an hour based on the amount of the "Tide Rock" exposed above the calm surface of the Long Island Sound water.

(Water temps in the high 40s, air temps in the low 40s.)

Just enough time to share these images with you before heading out.

(Long Island lies low on the horizon in the last pic.)

I'll post the results later,

Four hours of searching resulted in a small silver ring, lots of chunks of iron etc. and an assortment of clad coins.

Shortly after starting the wind kicked up out of the south east causing swells large enough to lift me off my feet and set me down again. This slowed down my hunting, but didn't stop me from hunting for over three hours warily keeping an eye on incoming waves.

I was searching for a large diamond ring I was told about, but I think it is still covered by deep sand and inaccessible.

The swells made me grateful for the dry suit I bought last year.

All in all a good day,

CJ

The sound set up a chop so we did the wet sand for a while.......way sanded in where we were. At least 12-15 inches of new sand added. Got only clad and crap out of the low areas cut away by wave action.

Hi Bobbie,

There are a few small spots where the sand has cleared away in the water, but it's tricky when the waves are kicking up.

Using the dry suit helps keep me from having to worry about swampimg my waders!!
