:usaflag:It's a rainin' out...finally. Kind of puts the stop on detectin' for a bit but we needed it bad. Anyways...I noticed that our local Lion's Club was accepting donations (for their annual million dollar garage sale) at their drop-off building, which just happens to be almost ancient. So I went home and scrounged up a few items that we no longer need...pair of ice skates...grass/fertilzer spreader...and a Johnny Jump-Up for babies, and brought it down to them. And of course asked if I could coin-hunt around the building. And they said yes..as I figured they would. And there is an older abandoned house next door that they own also. The house was bought out of a Sears catalog..brought up by train and built there back in the 30's I think they said. Got permission to look there too. Sorry if that was a bit long-winded, but the point I was making is that sometimes it pays to butter them up before you ask permission :bouncy: I will post an update when I can get back there after the rain quits.:detecting:

:usaflag:Got a couple of wheats on the backside of the Lions building..started raining again. This is definately another job for the Sniper...have'nt hit the older house yet..maybe tomorrow. I better clean the house while it's raining so's I can be on the wife's good side for when I go out again. It pays to think ahead.:cheekkiss:

Yeah, prospective site owners aren't the only ones who need buttering up.

:usaflag:Not a very productive day..went back there with the Sniper and found a few more clad dimes and a '51 Nickel. What I did find a lot of..is those peel-off paper/foil tops. Not sure what they are for...old milk bottles or some other bottled drink...would chime in as a nickel every time..drove me nuts. Started in the backyard of the old house around the clotheslines...nothin'...not even with the Sniper. Then a neighbor came over and chatted for a bit..come to find out that the house is in fact NOT owned by the Lions. So I decided to skedaddle out of there..the real owners live out of town...maybe I better do more research. Hope everyone had a good day.
