:usaflag:Kind Of An Interesting Way To Start A Day!!

Early on this foggy morning I headed to the local beach as I do most mornings to see what kind of mess yesterdays beach crowd left behind. When my 5 gallon plastic pail was only about half full of plastic water and soda bottles and beers and soda cans I found a wallet laying on the sand a few yards away from a beach front bar.

The wallet was one of those that folds in thirds and from experience I know they have a way of slipping out of a pocket. I stopped carrying that kind for that reason. I found no money, but a driver's license, a military ID, a pistol permit, a Social Security Card and several other bank cards etc.

There was no phone number, but I felt sure I could find the owner if I would do a little research. The name seemed familiar because I had a customer years ago that was named Carla A---and this young fella's name was Carl A---! Too much of a coincidence to be ignored. The lady has a cottage she rents during the summer and there was a phone number on a sign out front and I called and left a message asking her to get in touch with me as I had found a wallet and I thought it might belong to her son's!

An hour or so latter I heard from her that it was her son's and that he was at the cottage. The young man didn't know it was missing and the last time he remembered having it was when he paid for a drink at the bar and laid it on the bar rather than placing it back in his pocket. He understood just how lucky he was that whoever helped themselves to the money in the wallet and tossed it on the beach had done him a great favor and also how lucky he was that I happened along and bothered to find him. That makes 3-cell phones and 2-wallets I have managed to return to the rightful owners all from the same beach area!

Thanks for reading,

CJ

I have much respect and admiration for your honesty in returning lost identifiable property...you are an asset to the beach folks as well as to society in general. I always enjoy reading your stories, and this one is no exception, great story. Kelley (Texas)

I do hope that he realizes just how fortunate he was top have you find the wallet!!!

Well Friends, if I had patted myself on the back any more for my escapades I would have maybe thrown my shoulder outa joint!! It is satisfying to be a "friend" to folks in these situations though and last yrear when I lost my wallet for the first time ever there was an "Angel" there when I needed him!

What goes around------------------!!!!!

Thanks for your kind words,

CJ
