A few days ago I encountered a Fellow Hunter I had met before at our local beach and he told me the following tale, but first I must relate a little information that will fill in a few blanks.

Last year there was a huge tent on the sand at a private beach near here and after a week or so it was removed. I heard through the

being found and returned to the rightful owners. It amazes me how you folks can find a small lost item on a large area of sand, almost like finding the needle in the hay stack. Cupajo, it appears that you are becoming well known in that area, which is a good thing. Good story, I liked it. Kelley (Texas) :)

After living here for over 40 years, being a plumbing repairman in town for 38 of those years and a metal detector hobbyist since 1982 I have gotten a certain notoriety alright!

My detecting exploits have gotten me a write-up in the Hartford Courant three times over the years. (Twice for returning rings and once for some comments about a question regarding the law about antiquities and metal detecting in Connecticut which was addressed by the States Attorney General in the next issue of the paper.)

The "Courant" has the distinction of being the oldest continuously published newspaper in the USA!

There are no secrets in such a small town!

Thanks for your kind words Fred,

CJ
