:usaflag: It Was 7:30 PM And The Beach Was Calling So what Was I To Do!! :detecting:

7:30PM found me getting a little "stir crazy" so I headed to the beach to finish the day off right!!

When I arrived an old acquaintance of mine was leaving after a couple of hours of hunting and I had second thoughts about "following in his tracks, but I have learned that no-one gets it all, so I aimlessly covered the beach he had already hunted using a pattern of sorts.

Not long into my short hunt I found a penny and thought that was a good sign and proof once again that no-one gets it all!

Soon I had a half-dollar or so of coins and found a cheap ring (pretty though) and shortly I had a dollar or so in coins and this beautiful 1" tall, 14K crucifix.

Some of the coins were almost in my friends tracks and I know that he doesn't miss much with his high end White's dry land machine, but the little Garrett's Ace 250 is one nice little dry sand beach machine and it doesn't miss much either with the larger coil.

I think I may have gained an edge by not following his pattern, but then again maybe I just got lucky!

GL&HH Friends,

Likely he doesn't overlap his swings and missed some spots.
Congrats on the nice find.

I agree with you using that large coil. I have often stated on the forums that the large coil somehow maintains its sensitivity to tiny targets. I never use the stock coil at all. It's either the sniper or the large coil.

And you got an awesome find too! keep them coming Cupajo:thumbup:

Thanks for your replies Friends!!

This little Ace 250 is one fine dry sand machine especially with the larger scoop!!

When I started detecting in 1982 I paid about $500 for a top of the line machine (At the time) and it didn't work as well as this little gem now selling for about half that price!!

What a difference a little time and modern technology make!
