The hunt started out as one of the foggyest hunts I have ever experienced as I waded out at 11AM, a couple of hours before dead low tide.

Gentle ground swells with hardly any air movement made for some strange feelings as the landmarks drifted in and out of view!

Soon Mr. Dual Field and Diablo turned my attention to targets and about 2 hours into the 3 1/4 hour hunt I recovered this little jewel of a ring.

The stones must have been some sort of synthetic as they were mostly desolved.

It seems to be another of the old style settings as it is solid except for the recesses where the stones were attatched.

The usual clad and a few pieces of what had been a sliver plated copper bracelet rounded out the 33 finds.

Right after recovering the ring the waves started getting too rough, but I stuck it out for a while and finally called it a day!!

Hey that's great! I would break out the 25 year old bottle of bourbon on that one, congrats!

Nice find CJ,time well spent..2 hours into today's hunt,i was headed home...too much water..I get that strange feeling some mornings, its so calm, still, and quiet..all the greenbacks, sheep head, small reds and snook swarming around me with every dig of the scoop..where's the Bull shark? HH bob.oz

HA, the Bull Shark is always there, even when you don't see em. After a while, year after year, he gets to know ya and doesn't come up as close. It's the Tiger Shark I worry about because they eat anything.:beers:

Very glad your still finding the gold CJ! Aslo glad work isn't getting in your way. A very good hunt indeed when you can snag an 18k ring. I love calm days Congrats on your hunt.

Nice find Cupajo on that ring, you know I dont get to hunt the ocean that much but I have one of those big sinkers just like the one in your pic in my collection of ocean finds...too bad they are not a rare treasure..lol

On one of the "Animal" shows on tv they said the Bull Shark kills more people world wide than any other species!!:surprised:

They are not to be taken for granted!

That's true, White, Bull, Tiger, Lemon or Hammerhead, any one of them could ruin your day. The Bull Shark gets a reputation from numerous attacks in both fresh and saltwater. Being a euryhaline, the Bull Shark has been known to attack hundreds of miles up rivers, and lives completely in freshwater in Lake Nicaragua. We have had some fatal attacks here from Bull Sharks in the bay where the water is cloudy, but none recently that I can recall off the beaches where the water is clear. For that reason, I don't like to go out in cloudy conditions. So far, I've been lucky. :biteme:

ST.Pete Bch. FLA....2 bull shark attacks about 5 yrs. ago.....Both in the innercostal waterway,1 dead, jumped off his dock, attacked immediately, est. 8' bull,by bite taken out of torso......1 injured, Teenage girl bitten on thigh while on raft in canal...Happened in June/July..when the bait fish were in large schools in the bays....HH bob.oz
