A brief call to Garrett's repair department revealed that all the seals have been replaced, a new housing installed, a new switch installed and the detector checks out fine!!

It was shipped today complete with the right 10X14"Mono Coil.

Total cost was less than $80.00 including shipping!

I'm looking forward to seeing how the Old Girl performs after all the fuss.

PS I'm saving my "ataboys" for Garrett until I have given the machine a trial run!!

Garrett has always been fantastic with their customer service. I came back to Garrett after owning another manufactures detector that their only fix was to buy a new detector. so I did a Garrett Sea Hunter Mark II.

I have always wanted to detect CT. I have been there several times with no extra time. The history of the state and all the rock walls/fences from the 1800's,,,,and the very old houses,,,,,,everywhere!!! Seems it would be a great place to detect.
I know there is allot of rock ,,,but what is the soil like in general?? Rocks can stop a coin from sinking though,,so not a bad thing in one way.
Also wondering how it is getting permission from the people there. No offense but,,people in CT seem to want to keep to themselves,,or am I imaging that??
