:usaflag: Hunted out parks

Bill in Texas

New member
:detecting: Well, after a lay-off because of being too busy, I got out a couple of times. Stopped off for a little while at three parks that are suppose to be hunted out and they have not seen much traffic yet this year. Notice in the lower right a dime with a hole shot or burned through it. I also found a nice hot wheels car and a couple of other kiddy toys not in the picture. In some of the places that I hunted I set the discrimation high because there was trash every foot and the ground was very hard to dug (you could only get down about 2 inches deep). I think there is $2.52 in change there. Sorry about the pour picture - my photo light went out. Bill in Texas :tesoro:

There is a medium size park (100 yards x 150 yards) just up the street from me that I have probably hunted for at least 50 hours all together. The park is not very old and was probably opened in the early 1960's when the houses were built. It is close by so when I don't have much time to hunt I usually go there. For me it is a better way to kill a half an hour than watching TV. I always come home with at least a half a handfull of coins and I leave the zincs which may not be such a good stategy since I hunt that park so often. There seems to be an endless supply of viable targets which makes me wonder if there is any advantage to going to another park. I"ve only found one gold ring in that park and maybe three or four junk rings. I've got a sneaking suspicion there is another gold ring in that park and now that it has been somewhat cleaned up by me, I think the chances of finding that other gold ring are actually better than if I go to another park that is loaded with junk. What do you think?
