:usaflag: Gold is Where You Find It!!

Yesterday I stopped for lunch at a local Chinese eatery and as I walked across the parking lot I found this nice bit of gold. I realize that this isn't a "beach or diving" find, but the point I wish to offer is still valid.

One must have an awareness of his (or her) surroundings if some lost valuables are to be found!

This little 18K earring with 4 small diamonds would still be laying there, or in someone else's possession, if I hadn't been watching for just such a find!

Last year several small items of value found their way into my ditty bag when I spied them peeking out of the sand on the beach even though I wasn't "hunting" at the time!

They were laying on a heavily hunted stretch of beach and had been missed by some fine detector swingers too even though they were visible to an allert eye.

You may say that I was just lucky and I would agree, but all the luck in the world is not going to help much if you aren't looking!

I hope to find the owner, but if not this little thing is heavy enough to be a welcome addition to my catch!

That is keeping your eyes peeled to the ground.
Anyway you find it is a plus. Nice find . Congrats !!!

I am a fan of a keen eye. I went detecting one day and found a small gold earring with 4 small diamonds in it. Tiny....tiny. But still a find. Keep your eyes peeled. When I was 10 on a private beach in plymouth I found a silver dollar from 1800s by eye also. Woot!

I found a $100.00 bill in a puddle of water folded over 4 times in the parking lot of Target as I was walking in.

I had planedo n buying some stuff that would be just under a $100 so this worked out nice....a few days before Christmas 2009.

I also find myself picking up cigarrett packs and boxes when at the park or lake or beach. Hadn't found anything yet but, I know the possibility exists based on other reports in the forums.

Coolwhips

I also found a folded 100 dollar bill on the sidewalk in Miami Beach last year.
When I opened it up it was a advertisement for a go-go bar. The joke was on me.

I stopped by the restaurant where I thought the person that lost the earring might have gone. I reasoned it was the only business in the plaza where a woman might want to dress up. I asked the owner and head waitress to pass on my info to anyone looking for a gold earring.

This evening my door-bell rang and there stood a neighbor I have known over 30 years and in his hand was the mate to the jewel I had found! He said he had been told at the restaurant that I had found it and when he was offered my card he told them he didn't need it as we were neighbors! (He tiled my upstairs bathroom!)

The one I found will need minor repair, but at least it is now back in the hands of the owner and my stash is a tiny bit lighter so I'll have to go hunting again soon!

GREAT ENDING!!!:detecting::thumbup:

Thats cool.

I was hunting an area being heavily hunted yesterday. I walked across the street and sitting on the sidewalk was a 45 wheat. Nothing special, but I know some one else dug it then dropped it.

Eyes peeled
Jeff
