This AM I decided, as I often do, to walk the local beach and do a little "beach combing" to see if last nights powerful rain/thunderstorm might have exposed anything.

I have been watching for arrow heads and have found two flint points in the past month just laying there exposed on the sand with foot prints all around them.

They are of course treasure of a different sort, but not all that easy to find.

This AM as I got into the return leg of my excursion I spied this 1" gold hoop earring shining in the morning sun-light. It is the first jewelry I have "eyeballed" without a detector in my hand although I have, as I mentioned in my last post, seen barely exposed jewels before I passed the coil over them on occasion.

The foot print is one of many around the jewel.

I can't find any markings on the piece I'm certain it is gold. It doesn't weight much which is typical of these hoops, but it is a pretty thing.

I'd have the hoop checked. I buy gold at yard sales sometimes for fun and resell it. The first thing i've learned if it aint marked it aint gold although sometimes it just aint marked. But 90 percent of the time it turns out to be fake.

Nice CJ!, It almost looks like a stamp at the end of the swivel post. It may be stating the obvious but gold usually looks like gold but white gold will sometimes fool me. HH!
