Thank you Gulf Hunter for the number you provided me to connect with Minelab!!

The young lady on the Las Vegas end of the line informed me that my machine was very likely one of the original production models from 1993!!

Had I known that I would have never paid the sum I paid for the machine and had I known it was leaking I also would have never bought the machine, but that being said I'm glad I have it, because it is an amazing machine!!

I have several hunting sites where I want to run it through its paces and based on what I've seen so far I expect nothing less than excellence!

GL&HH Friends,

The machine was clean and I thought worth the gamble!

I still think it was worth what I paid, but had I known then--------------I would have waited for a newer version!!

But every year, I take it apart and service the o rings and lubricate the knob. It is still the best of my excals.. I have two and the newer model just does not quite measure up to the older one

Hi Mikie,

It's always nice to find that what could have easily turned out to be a disaster was a good thing after all!!

I took a chance on the Excal and after taking care of a few small issues I now have a fine machine and am enjoying it.

Just got the spare NiMH battery pack together and charged today and it's good to go!

GL&HH Friend,

Cupa,

I took a chance too, I got married. And Mikie's right, the older models are better. I've had her 28 years and she's still lookin' good, self cleaning and finds me no matter where i'm at. Just like a detector. She is definitely a keeper. But on a serious note, I'm glad it worked out for you. Good luck with it, and hope you find the Gold. Gene

In most cases, a used Excal will bring around $800. You ain't hurt, as you could probably make money reselling it CJ, but you oughta just go find some gold!
