:usaflag: Dual Field Gold for 2012 :detecting:

The second pile is for the entire time I have used the Dual Field.

It has never been back to Whites or needed anything, but minor repairs. (Which I did, such as repairing a broken coil ear.)

The first pic is of 53 gold rings and a few other gold items from 2012. It was my best year since 1986!!

This is all of the Dual Field gold since 9-19-09 (except the rings I returned) which totals 104 pieces including 92 rings. (I did include the returned rings in the total!)

I know there have been others who have recovered more gold this year than this Old Hunter, but I doubt if they had as much fun doing it!!

The pics aren't the best, but are the best I could do without turning the effort into a huge project.

I must add that all the targets I have recovered since August of 2011 were dug with a prototype Diablo scoop!! (Which is not in production this year!)

I'm already looking forward to next year!!

Have the best of Holidays my Hunter Friends,

CJ

Thats what I needed to see...that group shot is absolutly stunning! :surprised::drool: In case theres any noobies seeing this post for the first time, thinking this is an easy feat, ...'Jo's got years behind the coil, probably more time in the water than most fish, and dug more holes than Exxon! A real inspiration to the rest of us! :clapping: merry Christmas old Pal!

that is some collection of rings :yikes: makes me wannr go out and search now !!

That is one nice recovery on the rings.
Congrats for your efforts:thumbup:

CJ,
All those terrific recoveries must keep you young. I know you certainly work hard at it. Congratulations, and I hope you have a great 2013!
Cheers,
tvr

I would like to see the mountain of ring pulls, bobby pin's, iron nails, foil, keys, lead fishing sinkers etc; etc; etc; that you had to get through to recover these rings!! Like Mud pointed out regarding noobies thinking it's a piece of cake to do what you have done, I echo all those out there with 'years behind the coil', that can assure them, these rings come with a price.......BUT...the fun and the thrill far out weighs digging numberless holes and recovering lead sinkers and the like we get in our scoops!! An awesome collection CJ and like yourself, I look forward to a great and successful fun filled year next year. GL&HH

what a wonderful collecti

What a wonderful collection of jewellery - as others have said, we acknowledge the long and sometimes hard hours of hunting you have put in to gain this bounty...but the joy and excitement of making good recoveries makes it all wothwhile for the true hobbyist. Season"s Greetings, and wishing you and family a joyous Christmas and a Great 2013. HH

That is one nice pile of loot there CJ!! I laughed pretty hard on Mud's comment on you having more time in the water than most fish. LOL a good one! Congrats on your finds!!

Goldstrike, our town's recycling center has made a small fortune from the metal scrap I dig up and drop off there each year!!

A simple computation of value of finds and time spent recovering them reveals a return less than minimum wage!!

It isn't and never has been about the money!!

My favorite reply to people who ask me, "What are you looking for out there?" is, "A little sanity in an insane world!!" usually get a response, "Where can I buy one of those detectors??" !!:clapping:

GL&HH Friend,

What a pile of nice rings.... you have definately had a very good year indeed.
It's amazing how folks just never seem to learn to take off their jewelry before going in the water.
Were all these finds made in or near the water, or were some found in the dry sand?.. just wondering.
