:usaflag: At A Little Past The Four Hour Mark I Saw Gold In My Sifter!!:detecting:

When I arrived at the local beach my Friend Frank and I have been hammering lately the wind was calm and the water still, with only a tiny ripple at 8AM, a couple of hours before dead low tide.

Mr. Dual Field and I worked in close to the water's edge as detailed in the previous post, to see how much metal I could recover with very careful hunting.

After an hour and a half I moved a little deeper in the water and continued to work the stoney wash-out along the beach side of the big sand bar.

This is when I found my first coin, a Zincoln, one of three found during this hunt. In the next 3 hours I found three clad quarters, more scrap metal, a silver Rosey and this small 14K ring with a tiny diamond.

About 2 hours into the hunt I started working the deep sand which varies from 8" to over a foot deep. Nearly all the "keepers" including the ring were deep and required lots o diggin which Diablo and this Old Hunter are pretty good at.

The water started getting rough at just about the two hour mark and at the four hour mark I began to get staggered by the waves which were doing their best to throw me and my gear onto the beach.

A few minutes past the four hor mark at 11 AM I found the 14K in my sifter.

I was tempted to quit then and there, but being a stubborn Old Hunter I stuck it out for another half hour just to show The Old Gal, Old Ma Nature, I could take it.

Well Friends I had my work-out today with 46 targets recovered and I hadn't been home 10 minutes when it started to rain! (Guess Old Ma was good to me after all!)

CJ

you never disappoint ..you have 50% of the gold posted on this forum

Your persistence paid off. Congrats !

Gee Tom is that all??

Thanks for you reply Friend, I do aim to please.

Lots of hours between gold finds as a rule these days.

It's a fact that the more I recover the less there is to recover in spite of what some folks may think. (That there is an inexhaustable supply!)

GL&HH Friend,

CJ
