:usaflag: Anyone Recognize This Coin?

Cupajo

Yesterday's finds included a brass/copper disk that was barely recognizable as a coin until I washed off some of the corrosion.

I have never seen a coin like this and would like to find out what it is.

It's worn very thin.

and just a tad larger than a modern quarter.

Lots of curiosity value, but worth nothing otherwise, I'm sure.

Thanks for any info,

CJ

Considering the condition of the coin after years of being submerged in salt water, it is amazing hoe a couple of my Friends zeroed in on this being a KIng George II Ha-Penny in bronze!

Carefull comparasons leave me with no doubt they are right making this the oldest coin I have ever found!

It is, as GG says in his reply, from the early to mid 1700s.

GL&HH Friends,

CJ
