:usaflag: Another Wedding Ring Found!!:detecting:

Sunday evening the 25th of July a lady left a message for me that her youngest son had lost his wedding band at a local beach in water chest deep at high tide. I made arrangements to meet her there at 4PM on the 26th and promised her that I would do everything I could to recover and return her sons ring.

I did something I had never done before when asked to search for a lost jewel, I told the lady that I didnt want anything for my time, but I would want $20 to keep my machine in batteries. She informed me that she would be willing to pay $200 to get the ring back, but I said that the cost of batteries was enough and if I wasnt able to find the ring she didnt even have to pay that.

When we met at the beach she pointed to an area about half the size of a foot-ball field and said that it was somewhere out there!!

She had to leave an hour later, but took these photos of the old hunter for me. 21/2 hours later I left with 8-quarters, a dime (all clad) and 3-pennies along with a few pieces of rusty metal and a Cast Master fishing lure and no ring!!

If anyone can find the ring it's this old guy using his "Poor Man's Backhoe, Super Sifter and Dual Field!!!
Late today I hope to succeed in locating the ring and returning it to the lady. It will be gold ring #38 recovered and returned to the owner!

Up-date!!!

At 6PM or so I waded into the cool waters of long Island Sound on the CT. shore and after over an hour of wearing myself out with digging maybe a half dozen coins and lots of nails and other trash I decided it was about time to head home!!

One more pass about twenty feet from the waters edge and I got a solid "Ring" tone and finally found the ring I spent 21/2 hours searching for yesterday about 60 or 70 feet farther away from the waters edge!!

I have called the Mother of the owner to verify, but it looks like the one I saw in a picture she showed me.

# 38 in the bag!!

GL&HH Fellow Hunters,

CJ

PS I just got the call verifying the ring as the right one.........my first platnum ring in over 300 gold rings recovered!!!YAHOO!!!

but so far have not made it. To many hobbies and interest.... All 4 detectors are up stairs here ready to go, charged etc, just need that impulse to do it. I know a pond not to far off that usually is productive this time of year... Just got to take a few hours to do it....

You got the weather to get them in the water down at the shore now for sure......

Hi George,

The water is almost warm!

Jelly fish are said to be a problem in some areas, but I haven't seen any yet.

I'll be watching for Ya,

Thanks Wayne and Mikie,

I just got off the phone with the young fellow that lost the ring and he told me that his mom told him that she hoped I find the ring soon, because she felt that I would keep looking for it every chance I got until I did find it, even if it took ten years!!

I thought she was a smart lady when we met Monday on the beach, but I didn't know she could read my mind too!!

Had I known it was to be my first platnum ring recovery I would have wanted to search even harder!

Best to you Guys,

CJ
