Met up with fsa46 for a 41/2 hour "clean out sinkers" hunt today!
We both got our share with me walking away with 5 (I'll have to let Frank tell you his tally as I didn't count his.)
Targets are thinning out on this stretch of beach where I recovered 5 gold ring in two days this past week!
Still a lot of deep sand to deal with and as always too many boulders etc.
For the last hour of hunting I moved to a nearby beach to see how the sand conditions were there and recovered a few clad and some junk metal under 8-10" of sand buried in the stony sub-strate.
As I was edging toward dry ground intent on dragging my near exhausted self home Mr. Dual Field hit a small target and being game even as an exhausted Old Hunter, I jammed Diablo into the heavy gravel and sand that hid the target and as I did so a beach stroller asked me if I had found anything!
I replied that so far, too many bottle caps and a few coins, but mostly junk!!
He grinned and as he walked away I recovered the scoop load and dumped it in my sifter where I discovered the only Gold of the day.

The hunt spotlight items today are a lead soldier from WW-1 and the 10K class ring (Missing the school crest.) from 1962. (The last one I found was from '62 also!)

All in all a tiring, but good hunt!!
