:usaflag: A Very Safe And Happy 4th Of July To One And All!!, Another Antique And Some New Silver!! :detecting:

Back in the wash-out this AM early (at 6AM I was the only one on the beach on the 4th of July!!) Early in the 3 Hour hunt good old Dual Field sounded off and my new scoop recovered this oldie in one try! It is a tarnished 10K ring of a design from many years ago, another antique Im sure!!

A little clad and thin copper pennies, a couple of silver dimes along with a nice silver ring and bracelet (both recent drops as there is no oxidation) rounded out the hunt before my waders were at risk of flooding from the rising tide.

A Very Safe And Happy 4th to you all!!

CJ

PS Did I mention I like my new scoop??

Way To Go CJ , Keep hitting that spot, I know there is more .HH and Happy 4th of July .

Great finds, the ring you found yesterday looked like a winner too. I have the same scoop head but what kind of handle did you put on it? HH

Great finds CJ,

What did you fabricate your handle out of? My scoop is similar and for the time being I have a modified wheel burrow handle, but it is a little awkward to us at times since the long handle moves out so far ahead when i tip the scoop forward to dig. Fortunately, I have long arms, but it would be nice to have a handle with a little reverse curve to it.

I knew you would find more in the wash-out!!!! Congrats!!!!!

Many Thanks for your kind replies Friends!!

The handle is 1" rigid (Bendable) electrical conduit that is threaded on both ends of its 10" length.

I slipped a piece of 3/4" conduit inside on the end where it is secured to the scoop and bent it to the desired angle with a conduit bender I bought at a tag sale for $10.00 a couple of years ago.

I sealed both ends with epoxy for added strength and to keep water out and help with buoyancy and added a short section of pipe foam insulation for keeping the handle floating.

It's very strong and has been working as designed.

The handle was line up carefully at the scoops attaching point and then epoxied into place after which it was bolted for added strength.

GL&HH friends,

CJ
