:usaflag: A Short Hunt on Damp/Wet Sand :detecting:

Yesterday I spent over three hours on the beach at the waters edge with my Dual Field and walked away with .56 (Tax Free!). Of course it cost me maybe $1.50 in gasoline to drive there and home again!

Temps were all the way up to +31 degrees F, but the sun was shining which helped. A little over an hour into the hunt the sun disappeared and a cold wind started making things less fun. I experimented with listening for different signal responses as a way of avoiding digging every nail etc on the beach and only removed twenty or so by listening for the "double blip'.

I dug three or four steel washers that sounded a lot like quarters.

Today we're about to float away from a steady/snow-melting rain. At 36 Degrees F we should get rid of some of the piles of ice and snow now.

Here's hoping,

Hey Cup! I admire your Huevos for getting out there in the cold! Brrr. I call the days of only a few coins a "downpayment on an ice cream cone" days.

My last one was .31 know the feeling. I cannot blame the weather though absolutely beautiful here.
Warm weather and new targets are not far down the road. Hang on.

Many thanks for your kind replies friends!

It's always nice to know you aren't suffering alone.

Better days are on the way,

CJ

My buddy and I drive for 2.5 hrs to the Jersey beaches. Sometimes our .56 hunts get a little frustrating. So we always get a good meal and talk to a couple friendly locals. Makes the trip seem more worth while. And while I know I am far from the perfect hunter out there I can't help thinking a good Nor-Easter would make this better. And then there are those days when I'm out there swinging and I think what a perfect day. The finds don't seem as important as my health and the health of my loved ones.
