:usaflag: A Rare Day At The Rock Garden!! 2-Gold Rings!! :detecting:

This AM I met fsa46 at the sandy shore of the rock garden and we cleaned up lots of aluminum bits, bottle caps, and can snap tops.

I used my Sovreign GT and fsa used his new Excal as both of us are working at getting to know the machines.:yo:

This afternoon at 3:30 just before low tide I encountered fsa again, still getting to know his Excal after taking a break and going home for a while this AM.

He kept at the wet sand and I waded out in the 45 Degree, sunny afternoon into less than knee deep water for a Dual Field/Diablo workout!!

At just under one hour the class ring from 1958 was in my sifter and less 1/2 hour later the signet ring showed up too with a little help from my Friends!!

What made this a rare day first of all was two gold rings in such a short time!!:)

Then when I counted up targets recovered I had 24, nearly all keepers!!:clapping:

The three outstanding items were 2-10k rings and 1-silver Rosie!!

All in all an outstanding hunt!! (If I do say so myself!!)

You've got to stop this. I mean you are making me look like a piker!

It seems that you have really learned the Dual Field pretty well. I just got a Dual Field and am always happy to see your results. Going to be using it and my Excalibur II this coming March in Florida. You are the Dual Field man to me and I look forward to your postings.

Way to go!!!!!!!

Thanks for the kind replies Fellow Hunters!!

fsa it is always a pleasure to share a hunt with a Fellow Hunter and I look forward to hunting with you in the water when you're ready.

A few of the targets I recovered yesterday were very small disturbances in the threshold tone that almost got lost in the wind/wave noise! (Later when the noise got louder and RFI kicked in from passing trains during this commuter time those signals were lost to me, but there were enogh that broke through this sound barrier that I was still able to find the signet ring and several coins!)

They were deep and all I had to do is take out a scoop of sand to confirm there was a target there. I lost one strong signal down among the stones after working hard to dig that sucker outa there and wasn't happy about that, but shtuff happens.

Both rings were strong enough signals to be noticeable, but were still 8-10" deep, among the stones and not what I would call "big" signals!

The dime was a "whisper" signal and deep.

The nickels were tiny whispers and deep too.

On most of the signals I buried the scoop's 13"s in sand before I hit stone.

Sometimes the target came up in the first scoop, but other times I had to coax the target out from among the stones giving this Old Hunter and Diablo a real world workout!!

Now that I have learned what the Dual Field was telling me and got it adapted to my hunting conditions, I prefer it to any of the other machines I own or have ever used before.

The results prove I have made a wise decision.

Thanks for your replies Friends,

CJ

Nice looking rings. Congrats.

Great finds! You are killing it with the Dual Field. It's very obvious that you have learned your machine and it is paying off in spades! Thanks for sharing your photos & stories. I always check you out on the forum and look forward to your posts. Keep it up!

All these great replies are almost as exciting as digging up gold!! (Well, I did say almost!!)

Except for the huge stones it is like any other beach, in a constant state of changing with sand moving around a lot.

It has been in use since the 1800's, I suspect by the old items I have recovered there.

Until I wade out there I never know what conditions I'll face in my search for targets.

This mild winter has been wonderful for hunting because the digging is hard and I prefer doing this kind of work in colder temperatures.

I am often too hot in my waders from the hard work and the extra pounds this Old Hunter carries around these days.

Beats freezing!!

CJ
