:usaflag: A Little Gold, A Little Silver, My New Scoop Works Just Fine!! :detecting:

Rained all night and didn't stop until late morning, forcing me to cancel most of todays jobs. (It's raining again as I write this!)

By 1:30 PM I was in the water giving my new scoop a serious workout!

It's amazing how much difference a couple of pounds and a slightly different design has made in my digging targets!

Now lets get down to brass tack--

here's one on a silver dime!

1-nickle, 3- clad dimes, 1- very thin penny, 1- silver dime and 1- 1948 class ring 10K along with a fair amount of junk metal resulted from almost 4 hours of diggin and I could have lasted a while longer!

The ring is a girls ring judging by the fact that it wouldn't slide past the second nuckle on my left pinky finger!

The 10K is a very brite color and in good shape with no tarnishing or sign of wear.

I'm pleased with the new scoop and at $99.00 it's a bargain!!!

Nice class ring and glad your new scoop is working out for you.
Where did you manage to cut the weight and still maintain the
strength you need? I'm not sure if you built it or purchased it, so
please excuse my not knowing. Gold Nuggets :wiggle:

Hi Gold Nuggets,

If you skip down the page to my post "New Scoop" you'll find answers to your questions.

Thanks for asking,

Many factors are involved in finding gold and silver.
Hi Horsesoldier,

Hunting beaches in and out of the water offers some of the best potential for success.

Only a handful of metal detector hobbyists have had the success I have had since I started in 1982.

Being in the "right place at the right time" was largely responsible for this success.

Today there are few beaches loaded with goodies as my hunting grounds were back then.

Most of my recent finds are small, old and deep.

There are targets out there waiting for you, but you must pass the coil over them and understand what your detector is telling you to find them.

GL&HH Friend,

CJ

Considering how much competition there is now as far as the increasing number of metal detectorists and although there are lot's of good stuff out there, it is an accomplishment to find any rings...so any gold (or silver) is a good ring!!! congrats on your class ring!!!!
