Some days it's more about recovering each target than what is recovered and this was pretty much one of those hunts.

Some really sad, badly etched clad and some fishing sinkers. 1-silver quarter from 1944 and one nickle? from 1907, but I can't make out much about it.

It's etched so badly that I can only barely make out what seems to be a bust in blurry outline even though the date is clearly seen.

There is nothing to be seen on the other side.

The silver coin is etched deeply too.

A small pile of can slaw and other odd bits of metal rounded out the take for the hunt.

This is an old beach where the stony bottom really gives me a workout and once in a great while I recover an old piece of jewelry.

My latest attempt at scoop creation worked well, but I am still leaning toward using a sifter as dumping the scoop and sorting through the stones for the target is much easier than sorting in the scoop. Also I can use my Vibra-Probe to locate the target in the sifter to speed things up in dim light situations.

In hunting a sandy bottom this scoop would rock!!

This AM I added a couple more hours to this weekends total resulting in 6- fishing sinkers, one clad quarter, 2- nickles. one clad dime and three pennies (two were so thin I could almost shave with them and one was not only very thin, but was half the diameter of a new one!)

I'm thinkin I may retire and open a used sinker shop unless lead greatly increases in value.

One thing for sure, as hard as the diggin here is this old hunter has had about all the fun he can take for one weekend!!!!!!!!!

Folks that don't hunt the beaches in deeper waters, don't seem
to realize what a workout it can be. Grab a cup of coffee, sit down
and relax. Get ready for your next hunt. HH Gold Nuggets :wiggle:
