Tide was right, water calm, almost no wind, and once bundled up and in waders I hardly noticed the 40F temperature at all!

The water is still at 45F and I hardly felt the cold at all.

At almost 21/2 hours into the hunt I recovered this nice 14K wedding band with 1964 engraved in it. Weighs in at .19 Troy Oz., but it's a keeper!!

48 Targets recovered. I spent most of the first hour scouting around to find out where the sand had gotten thinner.

Lots of hard, stoney diggin, but it keeps this Old Hunter in shape!

GL&HH Friends,

CJ

The pendant was made in Italy, but has no mark to identify it as gold.

I think it may have been plated, but there is a lot of wearing away of the surface.

It still is in amazingly good shape for something made of brass.

It's a nice piece for sure, even if it isn't gold!

Good recovery of items.
Congrats on the gold:thumbup:

A perfect day! At least you dont get overheated until that gold shows up in the scoop! Well Done!:clapping:

Many Thanks for your kind replies Fellow Hunters!!

Mr. Dual Field, Diablo and this Old Hunter have been workin hard ta keep our reputation!!

Even at those low temperatures I found myself perspiring from the exertion of digging among the stones where I hunt.

By the time I watched the beautiful sun-set over the western end of Long Island Sound after 3 hours of digging, I was ready to call it a day!!

Mr. DFand Diablo were in great shape and ready for more!!

Me? I was exhausted!!

GL&HH Friends,

CJ

Nice finds! I'm in Minnesota so can only dream for spring to arrive. The good news is I will be in South Beach Florida at the end of the month & hope to have some great finds & pictures to share.

I admire your perseverance. Where I hunt I have to contend with nasty rocks also. Not fun and a real work out. Don't you envy those people who walk down the beach in their shorts and pop stuff out of the sand? Nice finds. jim

Well my Grumpy Old friend,

That ain't gonna happen in my lifetime (According to my wife!!)

Hunting a resort area in the islands (Most any islands will do) tops my "bucket list"!!

Gotta tell Ya though, I have to thank my hard workin hunts with being able to still do it at 701/2 years. (Define "it" any way you like) :bouncy:

Regards from one Old Hunter To Another,

CJ

That is a good day.

Many thanks for your replies Friends!

Nice to hear from Ya Scuba!

Tex I'll be watchin for your posts!

This ring is one of the more interesting ones I have found.

It has "corners" that are rounded in an interesting style.

Normally hunting for me has been water hunting, but along the way I have had some days when the water/weather haven't co-operated and above the waterline was my only choice.

This was one of those days, but it paid off!

Looks like I should be hunting the water-line more often.

GL&HH,

CJ

It's interesting to me that the targets keep comming!!

I stepped into the water at the same spot as always and got a moderatly strong signal..

Out comes the 8OZ. fishing sinker.

I've been over that spot many times and never suspected that heavy sucker was there!!

Gotta love the thrill of finding the unknown with every recovery!!

Nice to hear from you Dig!!

GL&HH Fellow Hunter,

CJ

Great hunt with beautiful gold. Congrats
