I pinpointed the one I have buried 3" deep then just set the loop dead on top of it and released the trigger [DE MODE]. The detector gave off some chatter of course, but the meter scrolled continuously in the teens and twenties. Then I did the same to a quarter I have buried and it scrolled continuously in the 80's. I'll use the disclaimer, "in my soil", but check it out and see what results you get.:detecting:

When you have the loop centered on the ground over the target, do a fast grab, only hold it there a second before lifting and releasing the trigger. It will cause your FeO graph to max out if its a cap, but I don't know what the depth limitations are. A conductive target will cause the graph to completely clear or stay clear if it is so. Try it going from a cap to a quarter and you will see what I mean.
Of course it will throw off your ground balance, but just do another fast grab on clear ground.:detecting:
