US Waist Buckle

I am super excited to share this. This buckle is # 509 in the O'Donnell and Campbell book. It was dug in my home town by a young man (15 years old) who is a heck of a relic hunter. I was happy to get it from him. This is the first solid brass buckle I have personally seen, and it had been lying in the dirt here in the Trans-Mississippi for over 150 years before being rescued. Still had dirt on it when I got it. The young man who found it has an amazing career as a relic hunter ahead of him.

That's a heck of a find and in very nice shape too.

Bryan thanks for sharing. What state was it found in ??? CCH

Missouri. We are in the middle of the state.

I paid him cash for it, and a fair price too. I know him through scouts and living in a small town, and wanted to be sure he got adequately compensated for his awesome find.

nice score.. excellent condition

Wow! Super find.
