Upper Peninsula ghost town

Found these pictures of Fayette Michigan that I took a few years ago on my way back from a trip to Montana.
Located on the Garden Peninsula which juts south into northern Lake Michigan, Fayette was a Company owned iron smelting town. Founded about 1867, it is now a state historic site, which is unfortunate as it is said to have paid its employees in gold. <img src="/metal/html/wink.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=";)">
The harbor with the white bluffs is called Snail Shell harbor and although not in the pictures the wooden pilings from the dock that served the old lake schooners are still there. The old Hotel is still in great shape along with several other buildings including an opera house and several homes including the doctors house. Most of these buildings are kept open for people to explore.
Hope you enjoy!
Tom
