Upper Bank of Canada Half Cent 1854

Found this one last night, if anyone has any info on these coins I'd appreciate hearing it. My buddy found one like it awhile back. As you can see this has a name stamped on one side of it. How a coin this old from Canada ended up in a field in Missouri amazes me. But I'm easily amazed.

Thats a pretty common coin. In fact, probably the most common one found on old house sites in my area. Quite a few turn up in the Norther US. The name on the back is neat. Maybe lost by a Canadian fighting in the American Civil War. Could have had it in his pocket as a means of identification. Dean from Whitby might be able to help a bit more on that.
