Good thread UN and good reminder. As he said research is key. Last year I was able to get a free special events pass for the Rideau Valley Conservation Areas, to detect and remove all items found. As Edmonton John has stated........leaving a small footprint is an absolute must. Last month I contacted the RVCA to ensure renewal of my Events Pass. Since I respected and left no footprints on their property I have once again another year of perhaps 20 or so locations to detect. Emphasis on "RESPECT, REMOVE and NO FOOTPRINT" of being there. This behavior as Edmonton John and UN stated in their thread's will assuredly continue to give detecting opportunity year after year. Cheers everyone and get that equipment ready for the spring assault lol. Happy Hunting.

I wish that I could say with a straight face that I have always been perfect with digging plugs etc. I can't without lying. But I truly try to be conscientious of leaving minimal disturbance now. That's one reason why I like worked farm fields so much, just kick the dirt back in and a quick level off, then go. So much less hassle.

I hear you there UN. I love to work the fields too and do quite often, it's great when you can kick the dirt back over the hole as you are swinging at the same time. I do make sure on the conservation areas to take the extra time, renewed finds there on a daily basis, kind a nice that way. There's a couple of close by rivers where you can get lots done in a short time. No need to be worried bout the hole dug, it fills in almost as quick as ya can scoop it out lol.
