Anyone know why I can't seem to upload pictures to the forum.
My pics are Jpeg format & about 100KB, seems to start then hangs, then stops.
Any Ideas?
 
Hi david - we'll need a little more information in order to help you. This forum is better than most to post pictures to as you don't need to store them on another site and link to them ... you can upload them directly from your harddrive and then attach them to your post.

Not sure what process you're using and where it's hanging up but it would help try to solve your problem.
 
I use the upload button, choose the file from hard drive, then hit the attach photo button.
 
You may have missed a step - Upload button -> Browse to find on hard drive -> Attach Photo -> Insert Into Post. Did you do the last step (Insert Into Post)?

Here is an example of one of my weird ones ... :wave:

After you click on the "Attach Photo" button you should get another screen. At the bottom it shows the attachment you just attached and another button "Upload Another Photo" and to the right are two more buttons ... the first is "Insert Into Post" and a "Delete" button. Your phot must be inserted into your post after it is attached to work properly.

Also recommended to use the "Preview" button at the bottom to check it out before posting your message.

Seems to not load, just hangs...after attach phot button is hit; doesn't goto next step!
I use Firefox browser & Explorer does the same.
 
Well I tried Firefox as well and have no trouble getting to that screen to insert the photo. You may have some setting relating to attachments that may be preventing you from doing this???

Sorry I can't be of more assistance.
 
Hi Gord, I think I may have figured it out.
I checked both browsers & all setting looked ok.
Still nothing, then I checked my network cars, they were both on at same time. I shut both off, then reboot, then set only 1 one.
OK, here is test 1.

No, still no go, will consult with a friend.

Hi Gord, I went to the "My Control Center" then to "Upload/Edit photo's" and was able to upload there.
Is there a way to post the photo from there to a forum post?

It just doesn't seem to work anywhere else. I even reinstalled Fire fox, still not working from a forum, only works from "My Control Center".
 
Not sure what "My Control Center" you're referring to and/or where exactly you "uploaded" your file to? In the case of findmall, it gives you space on it's server and all you do is transfer the file to it using the process outlined in previous posts. (On most forums you need some third party server to upload your files to and then you link to them in your posts on whatever forum you're on).

What operating system are you using and do you know if you have a firewall turned on? Firewalls may be set up to prevent upload and/or downloading files so check this out.

Other than that I'm not sure what the problem may be???

... the "My Control Center" within findmall. When you upload that way I believe your image goes to the findmall Photo Gallery.

If you can upload to it I'd think you should be able to use the other procedure as well ... no idea why not??? Maybe the Bill or Rick can answer this?

You can go to the Photo Gallery and click until you get the image you want, then right click to get the properties, copy the complete link and paste in your post. This adds a link called "www.findmall.com:" which will get the image when clicked. Hopefully Bill/Rick can find an easier way???
 
Hi David, I was wanting to post a photo in the Xterra forum but it is 1MB and so it is too big of course. Please forgive my computer illiteracy.

hi wirechief, you need to reduce the size of your picture to under 400KB.

If you have Adobe photo editor or another type of photo editor you can reduce it very quickly.
For some unknown reason this part of the forum won't let me post pictures.

Well, I take them words back, seems to work again.
This bear was hanging out about 1/2 mile from where I was detecting.[attachment 53373 BLackBearnearhomestead.jpg]

Maybe if I got the Televue telescope, can taken a picture of a dime from tens miles.:yikes:
 
I just got a great deal on a Canon 100-400 L IS USM Lens from a fellow who's been taken pictures since the late 1930's.

Maybe if the bear is still there I can get the fly shot.:yikes:
 
GT excellent condition ,checks out perfectly , some cosmetic scratches on the adjustment shaft,would give it a 9 out of 10 over all.Comes with manual, original box, nimh and 12 volt battery pack, battery recharger,WOT coil and cover siliconed in place , 10 inch Tornado Coil with coil cover,Will ship anywhere in conus for $650. 2 years old used abt. 10 times. Mostly do h20 hunting and have a water machine I use for wet and dry sand. Will supply references, Have a perfect rating on e-bay.
