Upgrading to the mxt pro

I don't use the tones much myself, but the night light is a great option. Congratulations! Your going to love it!

I will stay with the MXT, I don't need a backlight since my headlight illuminates the screen if I need it.
Not interested in tones, besides Relic mode has the 2 tones.
And if I were going to "upgrade" I would make it a definite upgrade and go with the V3i.......

But those are just personal preferences of mine.

I'm still plugging away with my OLD MXT. I can't justify the cost of a few more tones. I guess I'm a MXT lifer. :detecting: Congrats on your new Pro. Are you keeping your MXT for a back-up machine? HH, Nancy

I am with you Nancy, I will just keep my old MXT that i have had when they first came out.I have found more rings with it than any other detector. I still have two other Whites detectors, the Eagle 2sl and the PRO 6000, and they still work just as good as the day they were made. Good Luck with your new , I will keep my old. Flintstone

Good to hear you're keeping your MXT for a backup machine Cedar!

I like the pro the tone gives another opinion if a deep target is iron, also I noticed when I went to pin point my groung balance was off due to a change in the ground brought it back with the grab feature much faster.Found first silver with it interesting VDI I will post pic later.,,,,,,,,,,CEDAR

having moved on from an two tone MXT-E to several machines that use full tones (V3i, etrac, deus) all I can say is that once I started hunting tones instead of VDI the quantity and quality of finds increased alot....I just purchased an MXT Pro for two reasons, primary was Tones the other ground grab....would hate to go back to a machine that doesn't classify by tone...the future is in your ears.....

Good luck with the MXT Pro, everybody has their own way of hunting, not too much future in hearing if your loseing it, sometimes I get tired of all the tones and numbers so turn to my old 20+year silent search, no display Wilson R&C II or the Coin Select.Love my old MXT,love useing my Deus, what I use depends what hunting mood i'm in and where im hunting.

i love my MXT- a gently used unit from a great person on the forums. Its the e series. BUT I WOULD TRADE FOR A PRO FOR THE TONES. i have an extra lower and a 6x10 coil DD eclipse. the DD just does not fit my needs. i use the 950 in open fields and the 5.3 in the parks.

would trade the MXT with 950 and the 6x10 with lower unit for a used PRO. i am hearing damaged and do dusk hunts. the 7 tones are plenty and i CAN HEAR THAT MANY. a 99 tone unit-- yea right-- i am basically tone deaf but can discern the smaller selections with no problems. another brand unit has belltones- just a few-- i could hear that. i am in the negotiations for one now for a backup. my single tone machines are going. non ID going. they have been wonderfull units, but i have to use what works best for me--ID and tones. i use relic mode with my MXT and the light would help-- i am far sighted and the MXT is just big enough to see vdi.. the legend is useless due to size, but i have remembered where the bars fall on the legend good enough.

any takers on a trade?
