Upgrading a x-terra 70?

Hi Everyone....
I am new to the forum.. I have a question.. My wife has an x-terra 70 with a stock coil 7.5 I have an x-terra 705 with
a stock coil. I also have a dd eliptical coil. With my wifes 70 we have just recently had problems with the numbers jumping. We changed coils, still having the same problem.
Not sure if it is in the control box or not. Does anyone know if we can just buy the head unit and upgrade it to the 705 without buying a whole new machine?

Welcome to the X-TERRA forum. In regard to your upgrading the 70 to a 705, if the 70 is acting flaky and the 705 is not, my suggestion would be to send the 70 in and have the Minelab techs take a look at it before you go spending money on a new one. As to Minelab selling just the control box.... we had this discussion when the second series of X-TERRAs were introduced. And unless something has changed since then, I was told that any deal you make with your dealer is up to you. Minelab will only sell the "complete setup" to their dealers. But if one of the dealers wants to break up a set for you, go for it. Another consideration I might suggest would be to see if you can find a dealer who will sell you the 705 with a different coil than the stock 9-inch at 7.5 kHz (since you already have two of them) Again, that is completely up to the dealer as Minelab only ships detectors to US dealers with the stock 9-inch at 7.5 kHz. Best of luck to you. HH Randy

I went and reset x-terra 70. As of now it's better. I was thinking of sending it into minelab. Bubber let me know if you find out what going on with. Thanks Joe

In an effort to help you, people including myself took the time to ask you very specific questions, and asked you to provide information which you have refused to provide. Rather than make an effort to provide that information you just sent the detector in, and the results are? As expected!

If you want to keep complaining, then the result will be that no one on this forum is going to see those complaints in the future.
