Upgraded F75 got me on the coin board today

Finally got a sunny day and the temperature soared to balmy 38 degrees. Tried to grass hunt but couldn't dig in the ground. Thought the shovel might give me a chance in the fields. A buddy took me to a bean field he had permission to hunt. There was actually water standing on the ground but we kept thinking the house site was on a hill and might be drier. That dream didn't come true. We waded mud and water. I noticed how much iron I was hearing so I flipped the F75 over to 2L and FA process. Almost immediately I got a sweet, solid 91 signal. Chipping at the ground in a circle and jumping on the shovel finally got me down to the LC. Nothing like a big green disc to start off 2015. Picked up the Indian toward the end of the hunt. Again, a solid 61 with a very positive tone. This one was at about five inches. Buddy with his F70 picked up a 1862 fatty Indian and a neat pendant. Thank you Fisher, hunted side by side and not a bit of chatter in today's hunt.

Nice way to start out the year. I know what you mean about the frozen ground I thought I was going to have to get a pic yesterday. I am loving the FA mode, very quick and with the small coil I found and old penny at 6" in a very trashy area and it hit hard.

what is the normal reading for Indians and Wheat cents? Went out yesturday for the first time and could not figure out how to turn off notch. It lowest reading is 1 an where is 0?

My Indians read at 61. Older Indians "fatty and flying cents" will read lower. The large cent was a screaming 91 in a mess of iron. I am not a notch guy so I can't help you there.

Does the ground balance made a big difference in the chatty? I did not GB right the first day out
and had the sensitivity at 60-90 and it was chatty. What kind of sensitivity are you using? Are you
using All metal or Disc? Thanks

One is the factory set on notch......... no need to worry about that......... All F75's I have owned were always set at one.

As you alter that setting the notch comes in play. Remember it is always opposite the disc setting. So you can split the setting having 5 in, and 5 out. Depending where you set disc, as the notch sets 10
settings at once.

Nice.. Congrats Comet.

Not as much as lowering the sensitivity; but it will if there is much iron in your soil.

I would think it would be different for any of us depending on how close our particular soils are to the default. And if your terrain is rough (the amount of soil under the coil changes) or you lift at the ends of your sweep you'll get falses if you haven balanced.

With FastGrab it only takes three seconds.

my machine reads a rock solid 83 on LC's.

Wow! Now I am wondering about that hole. It was truly miserable digging conditions. We were chipping a circle and then jumping on the shovel to get into the targets. I haven't been using my F75 a lot lately and it didn't strike me as strange until you mentioned it. I wonder if there was a nice dime back in the frozen tundra that I didn't get out of the hole. I can't say I rechecked the hole since the LC literally fell at my feet when I was shoveling. Hmmmm, maybe a visit back to that field to check all of the dig holes is in order.
