Okay, you guys have me pretty well convinced about the Excal from my "What is different about the Excal" post.
I've noticed that the Excal is at least 10 years at the same model. I was wondering if there have been improvements and modifications over the years. The only thing I'm a little leery about is getting one only to be replaced by better technology in 6 months. For instance if they made a water version of the Explorer, I would be better off since I used the EX for 5 years. I know that replacements could happen with any detector/product. I also know that won't keep the Excal from suddenly stop finding great things.
If I had the money (I have 3 detectors on consignment that should cover the cost) I would go ahead and buy it today. But I am curious if there has been any modifications over the years. Does anyone have any knowledge of modifications or have any insight about any replacements coming down the road?
I plan on making the purchase within the next 6 weeks regardless if the detectors sell or not.
TIA
