Upgrade Prizm IV to MXT WOW !

I just wanted to post this for the users of Prizm machines and for people who have not purchased a detector yet.

I recently purchased an MXT because i felt i have out grown my Prizm IV. The ground is frozen here at this time and the detecting fever is driving me crazy LOL. I took my MXT outside to a spot where i more or less "picked clean" with my prizm (give or take a couple of cold stones).

I had the 950 coil on it.So i turned it on and went to bounce the coil to get it balanced too many targets. So i walked over near the highway and tried again.I hit a clean spot and got my new Bday present (MXT) fired up. I walked back over to my so called clean area (where i first tried to ground balance) and made a sweep with the 950 coil. IN ONE SWEEP i had at least 30 hits. They were so close together i had to change coils. After reading alot of posts on the forum i learned to purchase a 4X6DD Eclipse coil also.

SO,,,,,Back outside i go (this time i am taking a gun to a gunfight instead of a knife LOL). Remember, this ground is frozen rock solid,to i am just checking out my back yard. The 4X6 coil worked sweet and separated the targets like it should.

It was like my yard had never been detected before!!! I see many hours of removing all kinds of items, I will dig everything.I need to do this so i kind find the deeper historical items being masked.

So,,in so many words. If you are going to be a "First Time Detector Owner" get an MXT instead of anything lower. It is NOT a complicated machine with 30 different settings. It is sweet and simple. But be prepared to get down and dig.(i hit iron at 12 inches and i am dying to find out what kind of old relic it is this spring...Happy Hunting Gang !!!

Hahahaha. I know what you mean.
I took my MXT to a ball park where I had thought I had picked
it clean with my Ace 250 and lo and behold I found stuff
my Ace had missed. GOOD stuff like a gold wedding ring and a nice
silver band ring. I think its hard to beat the MXT...unless you got the x-70
then I guess the MXT has some compitition.

hey tom im in the same boat.i have a prizm iv.i have been tearing my self up deciding betweem mxt or m6.i heard thier are both about the same.but im leaning toward the m6.im glad you are happy with it.i hope ill be as happy.good luck with it.

hey , I've always liked the classic3. I went out and got my daughter a prism2 .This year i was looking at the m6 . I was on the verge of buying the M6 till the DFX started screaming my name again. For years I've always thought I would love to have" the big boy on the block", and you only go around once. So I purchased it.OH MY GOODNESS! do i have a lot to learn. If i jug every signal i get in my yard , i think I'll have to get a Bobcat LOL.

Tom, Glad your happy with the MXT...... I took one out of inventory week before last to take to Shiloh on a hunt and the weather preavented us from going..... Great machine compared to the Prizm line..
You will be hearing some news before long about some things going on with the &%#$@*&% that will be interesting... .Best to you, RIchard
