Updated F75 Disc Default

I got the "new'" updated F75 today which has only been out for a couple weeks. The default setting in Disc is 10. I thought the new software was suppose to have Disc default set at 15 ? Without an "older" F75 to compare to, how can I be sure I have the latest version. I know thy are suppose to have seals and a better handle grip. Are these changes obvious? The manual that came with it was copyrighted June 28,2007

I have a jan 2008 model and it defaults to 10..I think you should be able to see the o-ring seal..capphd has both versions..
you might could call fisher with the s/n..

Hi Roger

The up-grade did not have anything to do with re-programing. The up-grade was for doing a environmental sealed unit. Your unit was just manufactured a couple of weeks ago,(03 08 ser.# ). It's as new as it can be. :)

If you look at your case around the meter, you can see the seal between the meter front & case. That is one of the seals. The handle pad is of tougher material. These are the only obvious changes.

I have both and I see two differences. First, I don't know if the covering on the handle is tougher or not, but the handle on the new one is definitely bigger. Second, there is a seal between the two parts of the meter case. I can't see any difference in the battery compartment. I see no difference in software or performance. I didn't want there to be a difference in performance. I liked it just the way it was, hot, hot, hot.

Yes,the case definitely has a nice seal between the meter front & case. This should make it one of the best environmental sealed units on the market. The handle pad does feel like it's made of a tough material. Thanks Bill for the very helpful up-grade information.

Mine is 10 months old and it defaulted to "10" when I just reset it.

PS - I did just get it back from the upgrade and really can'tr remember the original default. Manual says "10" so I guess it's still the stock default. I've been setting it to "4" lately.
