Update on Wednesday's Find

Gulf Huntress

New member
Hello again, I have found out that this ring is 18K with a real Emerald stone. The person tested the gold and it is real, wow! She also told me that it is possilbly dated back to the 1920's to 1930's. They did not mark the gold back then, and she said there is most likely alot of history with this ring. I am so excited about this find. This is my first piece of gold that I have found Water Hunting. Happy Hunting!

Yeah that looks just like the ring I gave my girlfriend back in high school about 1925ish...Man she sure would like to have it back...I know where she lives....send it to me and I will return it to her!! lol...I found an old silver ring with no markings...I wonder how old though...it was 10 feet from a 1746 2 reale....2 reale was 8-9 inches deep the ring was close to 2 feet deep!!!...Pond find. I wish I knew! Made your summer I bet!

That's a very nice ring. You can tell it is very old. Did you find it in the wet sand? If so, how deep? What detector were you using?

thanks

Thank you, yes, it looks old, but it is nice. I was between the first and second sand bar, the ring was very close to a quarter, so I am not sure which signal I got, but scooped up the ring first, then I rechecked my hole and found the quarter. I was real close to the second sand bar to be exact. I used my Mark II Seahunter by Garrett.

ok, but why wasn't this ring marked? The lady said she would estimate it to be that old, I am going to get a second opinion next week.

Yes, this ring has made my summer, now I am totally hooked on finding more. When I found it and could not find any marks, I was a little depressed, told myself that I would take it to the jeweler and have it checked out, I have had it tested and yes 18K, I was like WOW, and to add to that an emerald too. This was too cool. But, it was alot of work on my part, Gulf Hunter and I were out there three nights in a roll, and I was pretty tired by wednesday night, but kept on going. Thanks for your reply. HH
