I found something interesting. On the bottom of the projectile is inscribed an "H." So far, the only H I can find is the first letter of Farragut's flagship that was bombarding this site. It was called the Hartford. Any other ideas?

Hutchkiss and that is all I can say about it, may help your research. I received a nice contest prize, check my post about CW, and there is a slab of a Hutchkiss Artillery round with it, I did not post it so no picture. I did an internet search on "Hutchkiss Civi War" today and came up with several Parrot rounds. Hope that is some help and please let us know what you find out. Great clean up job, it will make a great display piece. HH, Mike
