Update on the Golden uMax

CladDog

New member
So I called Tesoro to find out when the Golden was going to available again and spoke to a very nice lady.

She said the detector was now in programming and development and should be in production in the next couple of months.

Programming and development?

Is it possible they are making some changes to the unit, or is that just standard speak in the manufacturing process to mean they're getting their ducks lined up to start producing again?

That's good news for the people who don't have a Golden

I think I could get in line for one Tab. Thank you for the updates too on the Golden; I check daily hoping to read something about it and here we are.

CladDog----You must have read my mind.-----I have been thinking about the Golden the last couple of days & had a notion to call Tesoro & see if I could find out any news on it or when it was going to be released.-----Then I thought---nah, I'll just make a post & see if any of the guys has heard anything about---and--"here we are"! :)-----Thanks for your post & the info.-----I sure wish there was a way to find out what they have done to the Golden in the way of upgrades, or whatever.---------Be nice to have a little of that info also before you put in an order with a dealer.

It's my understanding that there has been no upgrade except for the tone change. At least that is what I heard. However, it seems that my new Golden

They were already producing the new tone Golden.---Why did they stop production on it?----When the Golden is re-released---it's going to be the same as what had already been in production?

That's my understanding. They quit making it when the program to manufacture it got messed up and had to be redone.

I honestly don't know how they could improve the latest produced new tone version.

They may have made a change to it, because it seems deeper to me than the old tone version.

That's way I opted for a newly manufactured new tone version over getting the older version a tone change.

It's very possible that your new Golden is deeper. Plus and minus factor in matchups of parts can explain a hot machine.. Plus as you use a detector the electronics lose some of their abilities over time..
That's normal.... Glad you got a hot one my friend.

Trust me.I will never go hungry with a Golden. You can pick out the deep high tones and rake in on silver coins in older areas real fast. Also the very best notch discrimination and it works great. In highly trash'y areas i can dig very little trash while still picking nickel's out.It is a cool detector.
