Update on my ATP

When I got back from the (salt water) beach last time out after the ATP was flipping out, I rinsed it off with fresh water and let it dry. Since then I've vowed never to take it to the beach again. I've done a lot of dry sand hunting with it and like it a lot. I think what I like the most is it's so light weight compared to my White's M6. However I really hate the PP on the ATP. It kinda sucks. My ATP eats batteries rather quickly. Not sure why. I decided to try it in fresh water the other day (I love water hunting) and it did quite well. I was only in the water for about 1.5 hours and managed to find lots of clad and a silver ring to boot. To date no gold with it yet.

Over all I'm really starting to like it. I wish it had more defined tones for ID'ing different metals and the same PP like my White's but I guess as long as you stay out of the salt water you'll be ok with it.

Your M6 probably has the round concentric 950 coil. It will PP dead center. So does all other round concentrics. DD coils are a little different animal. Try PPing off the tip of the coil rather than the center.
