update on mxt with 10x12 sef coil and a question

Nancy asked me to post an update on my experience with the 10x12 sef coil. So far I'm very impressed. Seems to handle the high mineralization very well. Pinpoints very well although not as easily as the 950. Seems like increased depth even in c&j mode. I'm steadily gaining knowledge by searching the posts and reading the MXT Edge. Most of the ground and especially the area I most want to hunt is over 80 in the prospecting mode. I now have good headphones and plan to hunt in the relic mode. I can look all over creation and not find a good place to ground balance and fear the deep targets will be masked by the high mineral content if I use ground tracking. What are the negative aspects of starting in the alternate search mode? Is the primary search mode still adequate this type soil? I'm sure the deep targets are there waiting. Don

Thanks Donald!
