Day 9
Keeping the faith today as its hard to not see a lot of progress day after day. Its emotionally wearing on Theresa as well as the rest of the family as we hold out for hope each day that God is working miracles in Landen's body.
Landen has been breathing with only the CPAP since this last update and as of today, they took the pressure down to 5% in the CPAP which is very good! This is encouraging the doctors that he will be able to handle breathing on his own without the ventilator so the plan is to try taking him off again tomorrow (Thursday). While we are still very hopeful he will be able to manage breathing on his own, its a scary thought that once again encourages us to draw upon our faith that God has this under control and the timing is as it should be.
Theresa sits with him day after day, sleeps at the hospital most nights watching him breathe and waiting for him to show some response that he hears her and he's fighting. She reads to him, plays music, try's to agitate him - anything to get him to respond! We know she wants and needs to see that more than ever so we are asking God that he delivers and shows even the smallest way that he's still working.
He seems comfortable and is off pain meds but continues with the brain storming and posturing - which are signs of severe brain injury.
We hold strong to our faith that can only be done together - and for that we are beyond grateful for the support we have in all of you!
In the midst of this storm, we we continue to pray for God to work miracles through Landen in His name.
Love,
The Risner Family
