Okay guys I went hunting at one of the old home places today. I must've been too excited as I forgot my headphones. Then I couldn't get my V3 stable in any program. I did hunt and it felt good to swing the coil. I only dug 3 targets in an hour and a half. One old gas cap, a 1965 dime and a rolled up piece of foil that read like a dime. Next time I'll go prepared and hopefully get my machine set up properly. I do feel more at ease with detecting at these sites now and hopefully next trip I'll make some good finds.

Thanks for all the info,

Shane

What? Oh no! You mean you *didn't* get arrested, face fines, confiscations, and jail?? Oh my oh no .... SAY IT ISN'T SO!!

What is Dept of Transportation Land? Is that like train tracks?

I have a train track near my house and was thinking of trying it out, but didn't know what the laws were regarding that.

I found a fire truck weekend before last, and kept it.

Yes, a hot wheel.

Becareful of train track land some places are patroled by railroad police.I use to fish my favorite resevoir by railrod tracks.Never had a problem train engineers use to wave at us as they went by.Until one day rairoad police saw me fishing,he made real clear if caught again would arrest me next time. And this was NYC transit police up in Brewster NY ,patroling tracks up there that they had jurisdiction somehow 2hrs away outside of the city in Putnam county NY.Which is no where near the dang city. Yes train tracks can be considered private property owned by train company or transit authority.
