Update on gold chain found.

Posted this photo on Saturday May 3rd when I found this 22 inch 18k heavy chain. Jewelry store confirmed 18k. She compared it to similar chains in her catalog and priced it at $1600.00 retail. My most valuable single find ever, so far. My hunting buddy loves finding gold chains and is good at it. He searched this school yard many times and when I told him exactly where I found it, he said he never searched that area. My search method is to zig zag all over a big area. His method is to pick the best likely small area and cover every square foot slowly and thoroughly, then move over to another small area. I don't have the patience for his method. Also, when searching for gold jewelry, I dig mostly shallow targets, 1 to 4 inches. This chain was very shallow,in the roots of the grass. Cortes.

Fantastic Jabo.

I'm really glad for you.

That's more than all my gold finds put togather.

But I just found am 8.5 gram class ring. 1947.

HH,

Nice find jabbo, $1,600 is nothing to sneeze at. Like you I don't have the patience to cover every inch of ground when I am hunting, I look like a chicken with its head cut off when I am out detecting. Steve
