Hello All,
I introduced myself over the winter as buying my first explorer xs detector.Well have got out eleven times with it for a total of 45 hrs. I'm becoming a believer in this detector. The tones tell the whole story with this detector. What I have found in the elven times out makes me look forward to the rest of the summer.I have found 19.00 clad,17 wheat pennies,1 1925 merc,1 1962 rosie, 1 buffalo no date.1 no date walking liberty quarter,10 rings 3 silver.2 10k gold. 1 silver heart pendent. Hunting in the factory preset then I boost the sensitivity to 22-23 and lower the threshold to a slight hum as not to block the faint sounds. Pretty good detector.

Hi Diggervance!

Congrats on the great finds! I have been using an XS since 2004 and have found well over 1000 old coins with it, not to mention a Pine Tree Shilling. Once I got used to the barrage of tones, the ears adjusted to the ones you need to tune out, then it really became fun when you knew you had that special sound.

I am assuming you are using the stock DD coil and if so, may I make a recommendation? Read Bryce's post about search coils he's field tested, and grab yourself an SEF 10 x 12. I put one on and re-hunted places I thought I had cleaned out, and I have found over 500 old coins (60 silver) since. It'll be a great investment.

Continued success with your XS my friend- I hope it is as good to you as mine has been to me!

Best of luck.

Hello all.
Well the rain has set in here in Michigan for the next couple of days so I can now update even more. I have added another gold ring 4 more mercs and a 1919 to 1945 nazi member pin;after a little research they sell for between 30.00 and 40.00 dollars. Up to 25.00 in clad. LOVING THIS XS.
Thanks for all the input
