Hi Everyone,
On Thursday, Jessica had a check up with the pediatric orthopedic doctor. The news was not what we had expected or hoped to hear. The scoliosis in her spine is worse. As she is growing, the hemi vertebrate (or the half vertebrate) is turning more. The doctor has decided to send her to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor for back surgery. It is a difficult thing to know that our 7 1/2 month old girl will be having back surgery.
We don't really know any time frame yet. She had at CAT Scan on her head, her neck and her spine on Friday. She is old enough now that she has to be sedated. This Tuesday, she is going to be fitted for a helmet. The idea of the helmet is to help with the neck and with her balance.
We would appreciate your prayers for her.
