UPDATE INFO for 1270 Hip Mount

I ordered a handle for my 1270 wand since I did what Keith-TX did with his 1270, made a hip mount. The problem was the warranty would void if the box was opened to take the handle off, so I looked under the rubber foam an there are 2 screws and nuts under there, so I figured there had to be a post for the handles to go around, well there is, so no need to open the box just unscrew the handle and the cumbersom handle is gone, now it works fine with the handle attached and a piece of VELCRO thru the handle and around your belt, but without it you can streamline it better. Now that I removed the handle I'm going to make another hip with nylon fabric straping to lay flat to the waist. In the pic's you can see where and how the handle affixes the the post.

How old is that unit. Talked to Felix today at Fisher he said do not open the or the warranty is void, he said anything goes wrong with the unit under warranty send it back. Just sent mine back for unsatle and erractic op's , they recieved it on Tuesday and it was sent back repaired this morning. Real good turn around time. He also said there warrantied for 5 years from date of purchase. I told him the ads say LIFETIME WARRANTY, he asked me to send the info on that to him so I sent him the back of the op manual and the page from Fisher website that both state Lifetime Warranty, he e-mailed me back and said he was going to check into.
